PBBM appoints Aboitiz Group CEO as PSAC chief

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has picked Aboitiz Group CEO Sabin M. Aboitiz as head of the newly-created Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC).,PSAC, which is composed of several business leaders, was created by Marcos to make his administration “to be attuned” to the concerns and problems of the sector.,In a press release by PSAC on Wednesday, Aboitiz said his appointment to the post will strengthen the relationship between the private sector and the government.,“The close partnership between the public and private sectors will continue to deepen with the establishment of PSAC under President Marcos,” said Aboitiz.,“We are optimistic that by working hand-in-hand with the government to develop the five priority areas, we will see a revitalized economy that all Filipinos will benefit from.”,Marcos met officials of PSAC in Malacañang last 7 July and thanked them for exchanging ideas with him about “scaling up” the country’s agriculture sector.,He said the PSAC would help his administration in building cooperation between the private sector and the government in helping local farmers.,Marcos designated Aboitiz to lead the council’s Build, Build, Build and Tourism sector, Aileen Uygongco-Ongkauko for Agriculture, Henry Aguda for Digital Infrastructure, and Paolo Borromeo for the Health sector.,Go Negosyo founder and former Presidential Adviser on Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion is also part of the PSAC and was tasked to lead the council’s jobs, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).,PSAC was tasked to regularly report to Marcos and provide feedback on the current situation on the ground.,They are also mandated to make recommendations on modern policy development.
