Go confident in BBM admin

Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go has expressed his confidence in the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., saying that he will continue to support government initiatives by pushing for legislative measures in the 19th Congress promoting national resilience and adaptability.,“As I listened to our new President’s inaugural speech, his promise of making the Filipino people’s dreams as his own also particularly resonated with me,” said Go, adding that the administration of former president Rodrigo Duterte has initiated the pursuit for a more comfortable life for all Filipinos.,“I am proud to have been part of the Duterte Administration and I am heartened to know that after six years, most of the promises that our former president made for the betterment of the country and our Filipino people have been fulfilled,” he added.,On 4 July, Go filed his first 20 measures aimed at improving the lives of Filipinos.,These include the Disaster Resilience Bill; bills providing free annual medical check-up and dialysis to Filipinos; Advanced Nursing Education Bill; a measure establishing a housing and social protection program; a bill providing for the establishment of an evacuation center in all cities, provinces and municipalities; a bill on e-governance; a measure seeking to enact the “Magna Carta for Barangays”; and bills establishing the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Bill and the Virology Science and Technology Institute of the Philippines Bill.,Go also filed a measure providing for a magna carta for Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency personnel; a measure providing Employment Assistance for displaced workers; a bill establishing an Emergency Medical Services System; a bill providing free legal Assistance to Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police enlisted personnel; a bill creating the Philippine National Games; “One Town One Product” bill which seeks to promote innovation among micro, small, and medium enterprises; a bill amending the Insurance code; a measure creating a National Housing Development Production and Financing Program; a bill proving benefits and compensation to Barangay Health Workers; and a bill which seeks to establish Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers nationwide.,Go shared that, shortly before then president Duterte stepped down from office, the latter also signed 30 bills that the senator had sponsored to improve, develop, and establish public hospitals in different parts of the country.,“Thus, under the Duterte administration, I have successfully sponsored a total of 69 laws aimed at upgrading existing government hospitals and establishing new ones,” shared Go.,Under the Marcos administration, Go said that he is looking forward to working with his fellow legislators in helping realize the aspirations of the new administration for the Filipinos.
