A novice policeman was shot dead by an unknown gunman riding a motorcycle in Caloocan City Monday.,The victim was identified as Pat. Jefferson Valencia, 24, resident of Gen. Luna, Zaragoza in Nueva Ecija.,Based on the investigation, the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. Valencia was on board a silver and gray vehicle with license plate NJQ 618 and was passing along Clamor Avenue, Brgy. 171, Bagumbong when the gunman pulled on the left side of the driver’s seat and fired at the police.,The victim was immediately killed after receiving gunshots in different parts of his body while the vehicle crashed into an electric pole after he lost control.,The suspect immediately left the crime scene and fled towards Bankers Village in Brgy. 171 according to an eyewitness.,NPD Forensic Unit personnel led by PCapt. Romar Quilang recovered six rounds of ammunition and one bullet from a .9mm caliber pistol at the crime scene.,Investigation into the identity of the suspect and the motive of the shooting is still ongoing.
