Marcos confirms Boying Remulla is his Justice secretary

No less than presumptive president Bongbong Marcos confirmed on Monday that he has chosen Cavite Representative Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla to be the next Secretary of the Department of Justice (DoJ).,“Many people do not know that he is actually a very, very good lawyer. So, I think he would fit very nicely into the DoJ,” Marcos told the media in an afternoon press conference at his campaign headquarters in Mandaluyong City.,Remulla made the announcement himself in a television interview on Monday morning ahead of Marcos.,Marcos also confirmed that he invited Bienvenido Laguesma to be his Labor chief, and overseas Filipino workers advocate Susan “Toots” Ople to lead the newly established Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).,“We’ve asked help from Toots Ople to start organizing DMW so that when the time comes that we are mandated to start operations, we are ready,” he said.,In a radio interview, lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos’ chief of staff and spokesperson, said the president-elect would meet Laguesma and Ople again to know their response to the pending job offer.,“They will be meeting this afternoon or tomorrow morning. He (Marcos) will be talking to Benny Laguesma and Toots Ople again. Hopefully, they are finally convinced to join the incoming administration…,” Rodriguez said.,Duterte administration’s Finance secretary Sonny Dominguez and Transportation secretary Art Tugade were rumored to be part of the Marcos’ Cabinet.,Rodriguez, however, denied the validity of this claim.,“We have not spoken about them yet. Although they are excellent, it’s really up to the President to choose among who will form part of his Cabinet,” he said. “Just wait for him to give the formal announcement.”
