DOLE announces P55 wage hike in Bicol Region

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Monday that the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Bicol Region approved a P55 wage hike.,In a press statement, the RTWPB said the wage hike will be divided into two tranches: the P35 increase will be effective upon the publication of the Wage Order, while the other P20 hike will be effective on 01 December, bringing the new minimum wage of P365 for all sectors in Bicol Region.,The region’s most recent Wage Order went into effect on September 21, 2018.,Wage Order No. 1 was also issued by the Board. RBV-DW-02 increased the monthly salary rate for domestic employees in the region by P1,000 for chartered cities and first-class municipalities and P1,500 for other municipalities, bringing the new monthly wage rate to P4,000.,Around 94,042 domestic employees are expected to be protected under the new Wage Order. On 2 June 2017 when the prior Wage Order for domestic employees took effect.,The Board, which included members from the government, management, and labor sectors, held public hearings in Naga City, Camarines Sur, on 26 April, and Legazpi City, Albay, on 28 April 2022.,The revised Wage Orders will be reviewed by the National Wages and Productivity Commission and will take effect fifteen (15) days after being published in a newspaper of general publication.
