MCU Black Bolt Actor Breaks Silence On Doctor Strange 2 Cameo

Warning: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness spoilers ahead!,Black Bolt actor Anson Mount breaks his silence on his
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness cameo. After the introduction of the multiverse into the MCU with
Loki and
Spider-Man: No Way Home,
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which was released earlier this month, further explores the concept through the lens of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Master of the Mystic Arts. The Sam Raimi-directed film has garnered mostly positive reviews from critics and fans, and tells the story of Strange’s battle against Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), as she attempts to reunite with her children in another universe.,Although
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had plenty of surprises in store for fans, one big reveal was the introduction of the Illuminati into the MCU. During their attempts to escape Wanda’s wrath, Doctor Strange and America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) wind up on Earth 838, face-to-face with the secret superhero group known as the Illuminati. The group is comprised of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter, Lashana Lynch’s Captain Marvel, Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Mordo, John Krasinski’s Mr. Fantastic, and Mount’s Black Bolt. Even more shocking than the group’s introduction, however, were their swift deaths at the hands of Scarlett Witch.,Related: The MCU Just Gave Us The Worst Mr. Fantastic,After months of secrecy regarding his role in
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Mount has finally reacted to being cast as Black Bolt with a new post on Twitter. Mount reveals that getting the call from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was ”
the most unexpected of [his] life” and that working with Raimi was ”
an honor and a joy.” Check out Mount’s tweet below:,Click here to see the original post.,Although Black Bolt doesn’t have any lines in
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the character is responsible for one of the film’s most shocking moments. When Wanda and the Illuminati first face off against each other, Black Bolt attempts to use his ballistic scream but, with Wanda having sealed his mouth shut, the scream ends up imploding his skull. Mount is clearly thankful for the opportunity to play the character but, as with the other dead members of the Illuminati, it’s unclear whether he will be returning for any future MCU installments.,While, for many viewers, the introduction of Black Bolt wasn’t as exciting as, say, the introduction of Mr. Fantastic, the character is nonetheless an important figure in the Marvel Universe and one that could play an important role in the MCU moving forward. It remains to be seen whether Black Bolt, Mr. Fantastic, Captain Carter and the rest of the Illuminati will be returning at any point in the future (or if they will be played by the same actors), but Mount clearly enjoyed his time as the character. With any luck, Mount will get to don the character’s signature black uniform once more and show fans what he’s really capable of when not facing off against Wanda in
